Harmonize Academy is an Outstanding Alternative Education School for students in Years 9 – 11. Teaching Assistant Term-Time only

Located in the heart of Liverpool, Harmonize Academy opened in April 2013 as one of the first Alternative Provision Free Schools in the country and caters for 13–16 year olds who struggle in mainstream education. Our vision is to provide outstanding alternative education with individualised learning pathways that radically improve the achievement and life chances of our students. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our unique school in the role of Teaching Assistant to support the curriculum delivery of KS3/KS4. You will be joining a team of positive and enthusiastic staff who are focused on providing outstanding outcomes to some of the most vulnerable students in the region.

Purpose of the post:

  • To support the students’ personal, social and educational needs
  • To support the teachers in the classroom and general school environment
  • Contributing to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school All Academy Staff are expected to support and contribute to the school’s commitment and responsibility for safeguarding all students.

  • A good general education
  • Evidence of having worked with children in some capacity
  • A positive interest in working with children
  • Adaptability
  • Ability to build good working relationships with a range of colleagues
  • A clear communicator.
  • Ability to work calmly and with patience.

All Academy Staff are expected to support and contribute to the school’s commitment and responsibility for safeguarding all students.

Grade: NJC point 5-6

Salary range: £21,575 - £21,968 pro-rata (Actual £18,338.75 – £18,672.80)

Contract: Permanent, Term-time only

Harmonize Academy provides excellent opportunities to gain experience and develop your skills working with young people in a secondary school alternative education environment.

Are you studying at one of Liverpool's universities or are you a recent graduate?

We are actively looking for volunteers to work with our students and help boost their confidence and performance in English, Maths and Science as they work towards their GCSEs.

This is also a great opportunity for you to gain experience in a secondary school alternative education environment.
