Health and Safety

Harmonize Academy is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all students, staff, visitors and members of the public.

Mr Michael Kearns, Site Manager is the Health & Safety Officer.

First Aid Day On Friday 8th November Harmonize Academy had A First Aid Day.

All students at Harmonize took part in The Hands on First Aid Training Experience in Basic Life Support.

These sessions were run by Sam and Wayne from www.icansavealife.co.uk . Each student received practical training in basic first aid skills and resuscitation skills as well as defibrillator and CPR training. Students felt they had been given a basic understanding of the skills needed to save a life and how important this could be. Ours students were reassured to find out that Harmonize Academy has a defibrillator on site and that staff are trained to use this. From 2020, schools will be required to teach first aid and basic life-saving skills. Secondary school children will learn how to help someone who is suffering a cardiac arrest. The First Aid course also enhanced topics covered in PSHE and PE lessons. It was a great day enjoyed by all the students who were proud to be awarded with a certificate.
