Dear Parents/Carers,
As the end of the Autumn term and Christmas rapidly approaches, I’m delighted to tell you that once again we’ve enjoyed a very busy and successful term with more students on roll this academic year than ever before. Furthermore, we are also pleased that student attendance continues to improve.
We are proud to be providing outstanding alternative education provision for young people from Merseyside and beyond, and delivering opportunities within a school environment that nurtures young people emotionally, spiritually and academically so that that they can move forward in their lives and achieve their full potential. The school is highly valued locally and in the wider city region for our work and we continue to have strong links in the local community.
In the run up to Christmas there are some extra festive events to tell you about.
On the days when school finishes at an earlier time, students who have transport in place will have this re-arranged accordingly.
On Monday 15th December there will be no enrichment sessions and school will finish at 1.30 pm for all students.
On Tuesday 16th December there will be an end of term Rewards Trip for all students. You will receive a separate letter and permission form to return. Students should arrive in school at the slightly later time of 9.15 am and will be allowed to go straight home as soon as they return to school at approximately 12.45 pm.
Wednesday 17th December: We are having a sponsored Christmas Jumper/Hat Morning to raise funds for the Megan Hurley Foundation https://www.meganhurleyfoundation.org.uk Please encourage your child to wear a Christmas jumper or hat and bring £1 to donate if possible. Students and staff will be eating Christmas Dinner together at 12.00 noon and will finish for the day at 1.00 pm.
Thursday 18th December: Our drama students will be involved in dress rehearsals and some students will be delivering food parcels to families in need again this Christmas. School will finish for the day at 12.20 pm.
Friday 19th December: Church Service 10.00 – 11.00 am
This is the last day of term and there will be a Christmas Celebration Service at Liverpool Lighthouse, Oakfield Road, Anfield, Liverpool L4 0UF. We would like to invite students and parents/carers/families to join us at the service.
Students and their parents/carers should go straight to the Liverpool Lighthouse for 10.00am, or students can come into school for 9.00 am as normal and will be transported to the Lighthouse. Students will receive a Christmas reward at the end of the service which will last approximately an hour and finish for the day to
return home at 11.30 am. Students will be allowed to leave from Liverpool Lighthouse or, if required, can be brought back to school. Any students who travel by taxi will be dropped at the Liverpool Lighthouse at 10.00 am and collected from there to be taken home at 11.30 am.
Your child’s report for the Autumn term showing grades, behaviour and effort achieved will arrive in the next few weeks. Students who have recently joined Harmonize Academy will receive a report at the end of the spring term. If you have any queries about the report, please contact Vice-Principal, Mr Carl Parkinson.
We also wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who donated towards the recent British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and Show Racism the Red Card campaigns promoted in school.
School will re-open for the Spring term on Monday 5th January 2026. Lessons will start at 9.00 am prompt. Please ring 0151 203 1934 if your child cannot attend. May I remind you that students who have not arrived by 9.00 am will receive a text home if you do not contact the school in advance.
